Spine and margins of the covers have been reinforced; some light foxing in the interior. Stamp of the Cuban cinema critic Wafredo Piñera on the title page. Signed Luchino Visconti on the title page. This Visconti production was first put on in Italy in 1952 with the Rina Morelli-Paolo Stoppa Company, with Marcelo Mastroianni as Ripafratta, and subsequently went on tour in Italy. The production was revived for the Festival International d'Art Dramatique in Paris in 1956. Our beautifully (and luxuriously) produced programme dates from this later revival.
