Original black and white photo of Richard Adams (birdwatching, possibly), lying on a grassy bank with his dog, and with a pair of binoculars in his hand. In the left hand margen: "To John Chidley with gratitude and all good wished, Richard Adams, 13th December 1982." John Chidley was a book dealer who had done much to promote Adams's novels. Remains of adhesive tape on verso.
