La Cleopatra, portata dal francese dal Marchese Maiolino Bisaccioni. [Vol. 1?]

Covers deteriorated, interior complete, but dog-eared, with minor marginal worming, and slightly stained in the first gatherings. La Cleopatra was published between 1647 and 1658 by the fantastic Gascon, Gautier de Coste La Calprenède (whose name does not appear in this volume, only that of the hardly less fantastic Maiolino Bisaccioni.) Although it is not stated on the title page, (or anywhere else), this appears to be the first volume of many - at least 8. Marie de Sévigné was a voracious, if critical reader of his works.
