The unbleached wrapping paper dustwrapper is decorated with hand torn water coloured paper titles and illustrations, with additions decorations of jute string and gold and solver paper. Mimeographed text and illustrations on unbleached wrapping paper and crude white paper. Roberto Fernández Retamar (1930 - 2019) was a member of the Origenes group of poets in the 1950s, and became one of the leading figures in the Cuban literary world after the Revolution. He was secretary of the Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, and director of the Casa de las Américas from 1986 to 2019. In this collection he writes about Latin American writers Jorge Luis Borges, Fayad Jamís, Roque Dalton, Gabriela Mistral, etc. Illustrations and design by Rolando Estévez. Numer 166 of 200 copies.
